The Veil Dilemma

To have a veil or to not have a veil, that is the question. At least, thats the question I have on my mind right now (other than my current wet basement woes. But this is my wedding blog, my place to escape everyday life!)

When I was trying on wedding dresses I tried a couple of different veils and I wasn't overly crazy about them. They add to the wedding look, but for me a veil wasn't something that I desperately wanted. I was on the fence, thinking that I would probably get one (or more accurately have my mom make one) just to add the bridal look.

Browsing Etsy I came across this bit of bling for my hair:

I love the look of this jeweled headband in combination with some of these hair styles that I've pinned on Pinterest:

Now I'm wondering if I should just go sans veil and just have the headband. The headband does look good with the veil in the picture above but again, a veil is just something that I'm not in love with.

Is a veil a must have? I'm not hung up on wedding traditions and I'm all about going your own way if thats what you choose. I'm just wondering if I nix the veil if I would feel like there is something missing?

I think I'll be purchasing the headband and trying it on with my wedding ensemble and seeing how it looks. See if there is just that one thing that is missing.
